In a significant counter-terrorism effort, security forces in Pakistan have successfully killed 25 terrorists, including the leader of the Khawarij group, Abu Zar alias Saddam, during a seven-day operation in the Tirah area of Khyber District. The operation, which began on Tuesday (20 August), targeted the Khawarij, along with the so-called Lashkar-e-Islam and Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, both known for their affiliation with terrorist activities in the region.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), this extensive intelligence-based operation was conducted with precision and determination, resulting in substantial losses for the Khawarij and their supporters. Alongside the 25 terrorists killed, 11 others were injured during the intense clashes that took place throughout the operation.
The security forces’ efforts were met with resistance, leading to a tragic loss for Pakistan’s military. Four soldiers were martyred in the line of duty, sacrificing their lives in defense of the nation. The ISPR highlighted the bravery and dedication of these soldiers, who gave their lives to ensure the safety and security of the country.
The operation was described as bold and successful, reflecting the unwavering commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to eliminate terrorism from the region. The death of Abu Zar, the Khawarij leader, marks a significant blow to the terrorist network, which has been responsible for numerous attacks and violence in the area.
The ISPR emphasized that the substantial losses inflicted on the Khawarij during this operation demonstrate the resolve of the security forces and their ongoing efforts to bring peace and stability to the region. This operation is part of a broader strategy to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent future attacks on Pakistani soil.
The security forces continue to monitor the situation in Tirah and surrounding areas, ensuring that any remaining threats are neutralized. The successful operation serves as a reminder of the ongoing battle against terrorism and the sacrifices made by those on the front lines.
