In the early morning of Friday (27 September), a Russian drone attack targeted the Izmail district in the Odesa region, resulting in three deaths and 11 injuries. The victims included two women, born in 1934 and 1955, and a 73-year-old man. Among the injured was a child. The attack caused damage to private homes, multi-story buildings, outbuildings, and vehicles.
The administration highlighted that the air defense forces faced a long and intense battle against the drones. Despite their efforts, the damage was extensive, and several fires broke out as a result of the attack. Fortunately, these fires were quickly extinguished before causing further destruction.
Law enforcement officials are now on the ground documenting the aftermath of the strike. Emergency services and local authorities are working to assist those affected by the attack, providing immediate aid to those injured and helping assess the property damage.
Earlier reports indicated explosions were heard throughout Izmail during the overnight drone attack. The Russian strike has once again targeted civilian infrastructure, adding to the ongoing destruction in the Odesa region as authorities continue to respond to these aggressive actions.
