According to the report on Wednesday (28 August), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued several weather warnings across India, forecasting heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in various regions over the coming days.

In its latest bulletin, the IMD has warned of isolated heavy rains in Gujarat, Kutch, and Saurashtra, persisting for the next three days. A red alert has been issued for Gujarat, the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, and Coastal Karnataka, where extremely heavy rainfall is expected.

The IMD also predicts isolated heavy downpours in East and West Madhya Pradesh, with similar conditions expected in the Gujarat region and Saurashtra. The forecast extends to Madhya Maharashtra, Goa, and Konkan, which are likely to experience heavy rainfall.

Moreover, the IMD has alerted the states of Odisha, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, and Jharkhand to prepare for heavy rainfall. The Northeast region, including Nagaland, Meghalaya, and Assam, is also anticipated to witness isolated heavy showers. In Mahe and Kerala, intense rainfall is expected over the next six days, with heavy rain also likely in South Interior Karnataka. Coastal Karnataka is expected to experience isolated extremely heavy rainfall.

In addition, isolated heavy downpours are forecasted for Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Baltistan, Gilgit, and Jammu-Kashmir. Punjab, West and East Rajasthan, and Himachal Pradesh are also likely to experience similar weather conditions.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions, as the heavy rainfall could lead to flooding and other related issues. The IMD will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
