On Friday (03 February 2023), Tokyo confirmed 2,941 new COVID-19 cases, a decrease of 1,356 from the previous week.
In response to a decline in the number of hospitalized patients, the metropolitan government on Thursday (02 February 2023) lowered its COVID-19 medical alert rating by one notch to the second-highest level on its four-tier scale.
Though the COVID-19 situation has improved greatly, people are still advised to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
