According to statistics, the number of COVID-19 infections in London and the rest of the UK is currently at levels last seen before the latest Christmas surge.
As further proof that the virus is waning in prevalence, the number of patients with the virus in hospitals is likewise on the decline.
According to the Office for National Statistics, 1.1 million people in private households in the UK were likely to have had Covid-19 in the week ending January 17, a 39% decrease from 1.8 million the week before.
The sum has not been this low since late November.
Though there is a decline in the number of active cases, people are still urged to follow COVID-19 safety protocols.
